Homework: What is Sonata Form? What are its three parts and what is the job of each part? Consider the example of the first movement of Mozart's A Little Night Music (Eine Kleine Nachtmusik). How is Sonata Form similar to the form of the Declaration of Independence?

The term "Classical" music first came into being as a contrast with Romanticism; this was very rarely used. The term only came into widespread use as a contrast with Jazz in the early 20th century. So in a certain sense, "Classical music" means "everything which is not Jazz."
